No matter where you are in your career, professional networking is essential. Chance connections at events can help you find advice, insights, and opportunities you may never have discovered otherwise. Still, it can be difficult to fit a networking event into your already-packed schedule. That’s why ACS is making it easier to form those crucial professional connections with our first-ever ACS Virtual Networking event.

On September 20, ACS members like you can take part in an online networking event tailored to you and your peers. Just log on from a computer, smartphone, or tablet and you’ll be connected to chemistry professionals from all over the world. You’ll be able to ask questions, get advice, and make connections in your sector, all without having to travel.

What is Virtual Networking?

The event is a text-based networking chat, open to all ACS members. Participants will get to join one of four informal online discussions, centered on academia, industry, government and entrepreneurs. ACS will have career consultant volunteers in each discussion to facilitate conversation, but the event is really all about you and your peers. Ask questions. Learn about your fellow chemistry professionals. Get useful advice. And don’t forget to follow up!

Want to Join Our Virtual Networking Event?

There will be 3 sessions on September 20: 8 a.m. – 10 a.m. ET; Noon – 2 p.m. ET; 8 p.m. – 10 p.m. ET. Register for whichever session is most convenient for your schedule. When September 20 rolls around, log on a little before your scheduled start time from your home, office or wherever the day finds you and get ready to network. All you need to bring is your curiosity, your passion, and a few good icebreaker questions. When the event is over, you can exchange contact information with your new connections and make plans to follow up.
