If you think “tweet” is something a bird does, it may be time we had a chat.

Social media has an increasing presence in the scientific community, but many scientists are unsure of how to go about cultivating their online presence. Join us at Pacifichem 2015 on December 17 for Social Media Workshop for Chemists: Twitter.

This workshop is part hands-on demonstration, part one-on-one training. If you have ever wanted to be involved in social media but don’t know where to start, or if you want to transition from your local microblogging site to establish a more global presence, come and learn from the experts!

Facilitated by social media star scientists Raychelle Burks (@DrRubidium), Mónica I. Feliú-Mójer (@moefeliu), and Liz Neeley (@LizNeeley), this workshop will give you the tools you need to leverage this communication tool and grow your research community.

In the first hour, our facilitators will teach you the key tools you need to tweet with confidence. In the second hour, we invite you to sign up onsite for one-on-one training with one of our three facilitators or the ACS Publications’ resident social media expert.

Mark your calendars for Thursday, December 17 from 10am to noon HST in Room 313A at the Hawaii Convention Center and come tweet with us! Until then, be sure to follow us @ACSPublications for more updates.
