Moving Closer to Commercializing Triboelectric Nanogenerators

Research in ACS Sustainable Chemistry & Engineering explores using specialized triboelectric nanogenerators to convert mechanical energy into power for children’s toys. These new generators could pave the way for lower-cost, eco-friendly toys that trade disposable batteries for biomechanical energy. Such toys could be an early commercial application of triboelectric nanogenerators.
