Keeping true to our promise of empowering young researchers, ACS on Campus, the American Chemical Society’s premier outreach program, headed to India for a three-stop roadshow. We hosted three successful events in IIT Bombay, NCL Pune, and IICT Hyderabad in early February.

We were overwhelmed with the response received from the Indian research community with more than 600 early-career researchers attending the events. World-renowned chemists were able to join the roadshow, featuring Professor Erick Carreira the Editor-in-Chief of Organic Letters, Professor Gunda George the Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Medicinal Chemistry and many more, gathered under one roof to share best practices on scientific publishing with the early career researchers from these institutions.

Professor Gunda George, Editor-in-Chief, Journal of Medicinal Chemistry looking back on the roadshow stated,I think the events came off very well, were well organized and were very much appreciated by the audience. I liked the mix of scientific and publishing presentations, and the panels. The hospitality by the hosts was great.”

Our editors and esteemed panelists enjoyed answering the questions from a very excited and inquisitive young Indian research community. The young researchers engaged in discussions on the latest technology, publishing advice, career insights, and current challenges in science with the ACS editors. The questions and queries of the researchers were not restricted to just sessions and followed our editors and panelists during the networking breaks and the lunch hosted by the ACS team.

We were honored to partner with IIT Bombay, NCL Pune, and IICT Hyderabad through ACS on Campus initiative and an overwhelming response received from the participants during the events makes us confident that ACS is living up to its commitment to contributing back to the global scientific society.
