The ACS annual event, Chemists Celebrate Earth Week (CCEW), brings focus to topics that illustrate the positive role chemistry plays in the world. In honor of Earth Week 2019, the Journal of Chemical Education is highlighting content related to the CCEW 2019 theme “Take Note: The Chemistry of Paper”.

The articles, demonstrations, activities, and labs listed below provide ideas and suggestions for investigating paper with students by examining the chemistry of paper, experimenting with paper recycling, and using paper to explore chemistry. With 96 volumes of interesting material on a wide variety of topics, it is easy to connect the classroom experience to the greater world through the Journal of Chemical Education.
