Cryobiology – the study of life at low temperatures and the response of cells, tissues, organs, and organisms to low-temperature excursions and subsequent warming – is featured in an exciting new Special Issue of Langmuir entitled “Interfaces and Biology: Mechanobiology and Cryobiology.”

The papers in this special issue fall into the branch of cryobiology concerned with the cryopreservation of cells and tissues. The optimization of cryopreservation techniques are of widespread importance as they are used every day by distributors of cells for research, by research laboratories to control the supply of cells, and by blood and tissue banks to supply cells and tissues for cell therapies and transplant surgeries. We hope you enjoy reading through this impactful new research!
