chemrxiv

On August 14, 2017, ChemRxiv was first introduced as the open preprint server for the global chemistry community. Authors were able to submit their research findings and have those quickly posted on the web for sharing with scientists and colleagues, prior to formal peer review. The first preprint was submitted and posted on August 15, 2017: Excitonics: A universal set of binary gates for molecular exciton processing and signaling. This preprint went on to be peer-reviewed and published in ACS Nano.

In March 2018, the American Chemical Society, the German Chemical Society, and the Royal Society of Chemistry announced a partnership to collaboratively manage ChemRxiv and made it into a thriving global preprint server driven by the chemistry research community.

Today, ChemRxiv features over 2,200 preprints from authors in 70 countries that have been viewed and downloaded more than 2.5 million times. Additionally, more than half of these preprints have gone on to be peer-reviewed and published in top journals such as the Journal of the American Chemical Society, Angewandte Chemie, Chemical Science, Nature, Science, and more!
