One Health Powered by Proteomics is the unifying theme of the Human Proteome Organization (HUPO) 2025 Annual World Congress, which underscores the interconnected health of humans, animals, plants, microbes, and the environment. The One Health framework recognizes that emerging diseases, antimicrobial resistance, and environmental change cannot be addressed in isolation, but require an integrated, multidisciplinary approach. Proteomics offers a powerful lens to decode these complex biological relationships by revealing molecular signatures and interactions across species and ecosystems. Additionally, proteomics enables the identification of biomarkers, therapeutic targets, and intervention strategies that transcend traditional disciplinary boundaries. Moreover, the integration of proteomics with computational biology and algorithms driven by artificial intelligence provide new avenues to explore and new platforms for dynamic and comprehensive interrogations of biological mechanisms and interconnectivity across systems.

This Special Issue, "One Health Powered by Proteomics," invites contributions that demonstrate how proteomic innovations impact and drive discoveries in infectious disease, agriculture, environmental health, to deliver real-world solutions for sustainable ecosystems, resilient food systems, and improved global health and well-being.

Topics include but are not limited to:

  • Biomarkers and drug discovery
  • Host-pathogen interactions
  • Human disease influenced by the environment (e.g., cancer, aging, neurological)
  • Computational biology and predictions
