This Special Issue will provide a coherent overview of state-of-the-art optical measurement strategies for life-science and biomedical analysis with a clear translational perspective. Submit your manuscript by October 1, 2026.

ACS Measurement Science Au is welcoming submissions for an upcoming Special Issue on recent advances in optical spectroscopy and microspectroscopic methods for life-science and biomedical analysis. The focus of this Special Issue is on innovative spectroscopic concepts, methodological and technological developments, and measurement science approaches that span fundamental life-science and biomedical analytical questions, clinical applications, and the translation of optical measurement platforms into preclinical and clinical contexts.
Topics include, but are not limited to:
- Fluorescence spectroscopy and microscopy, including single- and multiphoton techniques, FLIM, FRET, and related approaches
- Raman spectroscopy, covering linear methods (e.g., resonance Raman, SERS) as well as nonlinear modalities such as CARS and SRS
- Infrared absorption spectroscopy, with an emphasis on new methodological and technological developments for analytical and biomedical applications
- Hyperspectral and multimodal approaches that link methodological innovation with application-oriented analysis
