This upcoming Special Issue, Plant Synthetic Biology 2.0 will center on the application of design and engineering principles for constructing genetic circuits to enhance plant yield, quality, and resilience to climate change conditions, thereby advancing food security. Recognizing plants as sources of food and biofactories for vital vitamins, metabolites, high-value chemicals, therapeutics, and environmental sensors, we seek contributions that address the broad potential of plants in synthetic biology.

We are pleased to invite you to contribute to this forthcoming Special Issue of ACS Synthetic Biology, in which we highlight the impact of the rapidly evolving world of synthetic biology upon plant science.

Topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Design and engineering principles in gene editing
  • Innovative genetic circuitry
  • Plant viruses as genetic cargo vectors

We welcome original Research Articles, Reviews, Perspectives, and Technical Notes. Your contributions will play a significant role in advancing the field of plant synthetic biology.

Please submit your manuscript by September 30, 2024.
