This Special Issue will highlight contributions that explore cutting-edge research that bridges chemical innovation with biological functionality in the realm of polypeptides. Submit your manuscript by June 30, 2026.

Polypeptides are chemical substances formed by the linkage of α-amino acids via peptide bonds and normally are intermediate products of protein hydrolysis. Numerous peptide molecules in organisms can specifically bind to target proteins and regulate their functions, including neuropeptides and hormone peptides.
Based on their ability to precisely recognize specific biomolecules, peptides can be developed not only as important drugs (including agonists, inhibitors, and allosteric modulators) but also as targeted warheads for the precise delivery of small molecules and isotopic atoms. The chemical synthesis of polypeptide, the construction of peptide libraries, high-throughput synthesis-binding screening-functional assay, precise peptide modifications to enhance stability, and site-specific cyclization have become core focuses in advancing polypeptide functional studies and peptide-based drug development.
In response to the growing interest and rapid advancements in this field, this Special Issue, to be published in Precision Chemistry, will highlight contributions that explore cutting-edge research that bridges chemical innovation with biological functionality in the realm of polypeptides. The topics of interest include:
- Polypeptide Library Construction and Screening
- Specific Binding and Function modulation of Polypeptide to Target Biomolecules
- Polypeptide Mediated Delivery of Molecules or Isotope Atoms
- Polypeptide based Polymers

Submission Information
Manuscripts accepted for inclusion in this Special Issue will include Articles, Letters, Perspectives, and Reviews. If accepted, publications will go online ASAP (as soon as possible) with a DOI. After all submissions have been published, they will then be compiled online on a dedicated landing page to form the Special Issue and widely promoted.
Submissions are welcome through June 30, 2026. All articles will be peer reviewed prior to acceptance to ensure they fit the scope of the Special Issue and meet the high scientific publishing standards of Precision Chemistry. The peer review process for all papers will be managed by the journal editors to ensure rigor is maintained.
Precision Chemistry is an open access journal.
