Call for Papers: Joint Virtual Special Issue on Breakthrough Technologies in Diagnosis and Therapy of Chronic Wounds

In 2024, ACS Pharmacology & Translational Science and ACS Applied Bio Materials will jointly publish a Virtual Special Issue showcasing recent research advances in transformative diagnostic and therapeutic wound dressing for chronic wounds.

Do you have a research report to include? Submit your manuscript by July 31, 2024.

Chronic wounds are debilitating injuries that fail to heal within an expected timeframe due to a dysregulated inflammatory state. Chronic wounds are characterized by their inability to proceed through the normal phases of wound healing. Various disease states result in chronic wound development, such as diabetes, venous insufficiency, and undue skin pressure.

Advances in the understanding of chronic wound pathophysiology led to the emergence of new targets that motivate the development of diagnostic and therapeutic bandages. To highlight the rapidly evolving field of advanced bandages for chronic wounds, ACS Pharmacology & Translational Science and ACS Applied Bio Materials welcome contributions to an upcoming Virtual Special Issue, "Breakthrough Technologies in Diagnosis and Therapy of Chronic Wounds." Submission Instructions

To submit for this special issue in ACS Pharmacology & Translational Science:

1. Log in to the ACS Paragon Plus submission site, and choose ACS Pharmacology & Translational Science as your journal.
2. Select your manuscript type, and, under "Special Issue Selection," choose "Breakthrough Technologies in Diagnosis and Therapy of Chronic Wounds."
3. We recommend that you also add your interest in the Virtual Special Issue in your cover letter.

To join this virtual special issue in ACS Applied Bio Materials:

1. Please indicate that your manuscript is intended for the virtual special issue “Breakthrough Technologies in Diagnosis and Therapy of Chronic Wounds” in the cover letter of the submission.

Manuscripts submitted for consideration for this joint Virtual Special Issue in either journals will undergo the same rigorous peer review process expected from ACS journals. Authors whose manuscripts are accepted for publication can expect to be informed within 10-12 weeks of their submission date.
