This Special Issue will focus on the determination and prediction of phase behavior and properties of aqueous two-phase systems, highlighting their innovative and eco-friendly approaches to chemical and biochemical separation processes. Submit your manuscript by July 1, 2025.

This Special Issue in the Journal of Chemical & Engineering Data will focus on the determination and prediction of phase behavior and properties of aqueous two-phase systems (ATPS), highlighting their innovative and eco-friendly approaches to chemical and biochemical separation processes. Examples of relevant topics might be:
- Determination, correlation and modeling of phase conditions and thermophysical and thermochemical properties of ATPS;
- Development of green ATPS involving renewable, biodegradable, and non-toxic solvents;
- Extraction of pollutants and valuable compounds using ATPS.
Research must utilize experimental and computational approaches that are in the scope of the Journal.
Submissions must comply with the journal's scope, General Guidelines for Authors, and Guidelines for Molecular Modeling and Simulation. Note that micellization, kinetics, and catalysis are not in scope. The Journal of Chemical & Engineering Data encourages manuscripts that report on consequential (relevant, comprehensive, and robust) data and place these data into context by addressing what can be learned from differences and similarities to prior published data on related systems.
Each submission will be peer-reviewed in the usual manner. Upon acceptance, the paper will be published on a rolling basis in a regular issue of the Journal of Chemical & Engineering Data with a label that it is a part of the Special Issue. Once all invited articles have appeared online, they will be collected onto a single Special Issue collection and promoted all together to provide the authors additional exposure.
