This Special Issue, will highlight wearable, implantable, and minimally invasive biointerface systems that connect patient-specific biological signals with digital medical technologies. Submit your manuscript by October 31, 2026.

Wearable and implantable technologies are transforming how biological signals are captured, interpreted, and translated into personalized medical insight. By integrating biointerface engineering with biosensing, wireless operation, and data-driven analysis, these systems are enabling continuous monitoring, adaptive intervention, and patient-specific healthcare.
Digital Medical Engineering seeks contributions on integrated platforms that acquire physiological, biochemical, biomechanical, electrophysiological, neural, or molecular information from the body and translate these signals into actionable outputs for precision diagnostics, longitudinal monitoring, closed-loop therapy, or personalized intervention.
Rather than focusing on wearable or implantable devices as standalone hardware, this Special Issue emphasizes systems in which biointerface design, signal acquisition, digital interpretation, and medical relevance are closely linked. Submissions should clearly articulate how the proposed technology advances precision health through patient-specific measurement, data-driven insight, adaptive control, or clinically meaningful validation.
