The American Chemical Society has partnered with seven other distinguished international chemistry associations to host the inaugural Atlantic Basin Conference on Chemistry in Cancun, Mexico January 23 – 26, 2018. A number of ACS Publications editors will be in attendance at the conference, including Paul Weiss, Editor-in-Chief of ACS Nano and ABC Conference Technical Programming Committee Chair, Laura Kiessling, ACS Chemical Biology Editor-in-Chief and Plenary Speaker, Jillian Buriak, Chemistry of Materials Editor-in-Chief and speaker, and Anne Andrews, Associate Editor for ACS Chemical Neuroscience and conference speaker.
The ABC conference is the first of its kind and will include speakers from across the region presenting on four themes: Chemistry in Biology, Green Chemistry, Materials & Nano Chemistry, and Physical & Analytical Chemistry. Sponsoring societies include the European Association for Chemical & Molecular Sciences, the Canadian Society for Chemistry, the Mexican Chemical Society, and the Brazilian Chemical Society. Participating societies are the Federation of African Societies of Chemistry, the Latin American Federation of Chemical Associations, and the South African Chemical Institute.
Registration for the meeting is now open. The conference will take place at the Peninsula Convention Center at the Iberostar Cancún hotel in Cancún, Mexico. ACS members can register for a discounted rate of $450, and the student registration fee is $250.
