JACS Au aspires to be a premier gold open access journal covering the full breadth of chemistry and allied fields. To this end, we seek advice and counsel from researchers and educators from all over the world, and at all career stages. Since 2021, JACS Au has appointed an Early Career Advisory Board (ECAB) which has served as a key source of advice, counsel, and perspective from early career researchers covering the full breadth of chemistry and allied disciplines. View the 2023 ECAB members here.

JACS Au is now seeking nominations for the 2024 Early Career Advisory Board (ECAB). Members of the ECAB will play a crucial role in shaping the evolution and growth of the journal. Members will serve as a key source of advice, counsel, and perspective from early career researchers covering the full breadth of chemistry and allied disciplines. They will provide input on journal strategy and outreach efforts and act as ambassadors, building upon its success to date and helping to drive it forward toward its goal to be a premier open access multidisciplinary journal.

Eligibility

We welcome nominations from early career faculty (or equivalent) working in academia, industry, at National Laboratories, or at research institutions who are within 3-10 years since earning their Ph.D. degree.

Application Information

Both self-nominations and nominations by a colleague or mentor are welcome and we would encourage statements of nomination describing why the nominee would be an excellent candidate for the ECAB.

We look forward to welcoming the next generation of emerging scholars as ECAB members of JACS Au in 2024. The initial term will be one year starting in June. The role of an ECAB member will include providing advice to the editorial team, contributing to the journal through author and reviewer activity, and offering suggestions for journal initiatives such as Collections or Virtual Special Issues. Members will meet with the editorial team and attend at least one virtual ECAB meeting following their appointment.

Another key responsibility of the ECAB is their contribution to our ECAB Selects program. Each quarter, our ECAB members highlight recent, noteworthy papers from their respective fields that merit additional attention, which are collected and presented on a dedicated landing page and highlighted through the journal’s social media accounts. This pool of papers is collected over the course of a year and makes up the nominations for our annual JACS Au Outstanding Paper Award, the inaugural edition of which was announced in Summer 2023.

Please submit your nomination application by no later than April 30, 2024.
