This Special Issue will focus on new developments in science and technology to advance air pollution control technology. Submit your manuscript by March 25, 2025.
The urgency of addressing air pollution due to its severe environmental and health impacts is at an all-time high. With escalating concerns about air quality and its significant role in climate change and public and ecological health, effective air pollution control measures are paramount. Furthermore, recent breakthroughs in catalysis, particularly in the realm of environmental catalysis, have ushered in a new era of innovative solutions for tackling air pollution. Catalytic technologies can be customized for specific pollutants and applications, making them versatile tools for improving air quality. Environmental catalysis aids in achieving regulatory compliance, promoting cleaner industrial processes, and supporting the transition to a low-carbon economy.
This Special Issue in ACS ES&T Engineering will focus on the latest advancements in catalytic systems and materials designed to remove harmful pollutants and gases from the atmosphere, including nitrogen oxides, volatile organic compounds, and particulate matter. These pollutants pose significant threats to human health, ecosystems, and the climate.
Topics include, but are not limited to:
- Progress in catalyst development and catalytic processes addressing air pollution
- Advancements in cleaner, sustainable industrial practices
- Gaseous pollutant recycling
- Progress toward carbon neutrality
- Advancements in the catalytic reduction/removal of atmospheric pollutants
- Progress in high-performance catalytic oxidation materials
Submit your manuscript by March 25, 2025.
