Are you an early career researcher who wants to gain insight into scientific publishing while also contributing significantly to the journal's mission and future? Apply for the Environmental Science & Technology Early Career Board by September 15, 2024!

The environmental challenges we face—and the solutions we must create—continue to evolve in scale, scope and complexity. It is imperative that Environmental Science & Technology (ES&T) simultaneously evolves to remain not only relevant, but to continue to lead the environmental field with impactful and relevant research for the benefit of society.

As such, those serving on our Early Career Board (ECB) represent not only excellence in today’s ES&T, but our aspirations for evolving the breadth and diversity of the journal's scholarship and community. With the expertise, experience, and insight of our ECB, ES&T will be more effective in our work today and oriented for future directions.

The journal is now accepting nominations for early career researchers (defined as someone with fewer than 10 years since receiving their Ph.D.) to join our ECB. Early career researchers are the future leaders of our field, and we are seeking input from a diverse group of these young professionals representing all areas of environmental research and diverse perspectives. ECB members will be empowered to identify new areas of research, to create new mechanisms to engage a broad and diverse research community, and to inform the editorial review process to ensure effectiveness, relevance, and inclusion.
