美国化学会（ACS）出版部高兴地宣布，任命新加坡南洋理工大学化学、化工和生物技术学院教授，中国江南大学化学与材料工程学院教授林歆怡（Xing Yi Ling）为 ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces 家族期刊新任主编。该家族的八本期刊聚焦针对特定用途开发和利用新材料和界面工艺。
林歆怡教授将于2024年初履职，接替创刊主编 Kirk S. Schanze 教授，后者自2008年起带领 ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces 成长为拥有八本期刊组成的家族，影响力与日俱增。以 ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces 为首的这八本期刊面向多学科领域的化学家、工程师、物理学家和生物学家，聚焦应用材料与界面领域，与美国化学会其它基础材料科学类期刊互为补充。
“ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces 已发展为应用材料领域可信赖的期刊品牌，未来五至十年至关重要，关系到该刊及 ACS Applied Materials 家族能否成功获得更大的学术及社会影响力，”林歆怡教授表示。“我们将通过新的计划和项目来加强我们的外联能力，提高期刊编辑团队的多样性，扩展我们的期刊内容，加强刊内和刊际合作。”
林歆怡教授同时也是 Analytical Chemistry 与 Chemistry of Materials 期刊的编辑顾问委员会成员，在美国化学会期刊上发表过多篇论文。她曾荣获多个奖项，包括：新加坡国家研究基金会研究员奖；南洋理工大学创新创业奖；中国台湾台北第18届亚洲化学大会（ACC）亚洲新星讲座奖。

林歆怡教授是新加坡南洋理工大学化学、化工和生物技术学院兼李光前医学院教授，中国江南大学化学与材料工程学院教授。重点研究领域包括：利用纳米技术在环境、医疗和催化领域进行基础研究和应用。她拥有澳大利亚阿德莱德大学化学工程学士学位；新加坡国立大学工程硕士学位；荷兰特文特大学化学博士学位。
