ACS Biomaterials Science & Engineering is a premier journal published by the American Chemical Society, dedicated to the advancement of biomaterials research. Led by a distinguished and diverse editorial board, ACS Biomaterials Science & Engineering is committed to publishing impactful research that drives innovation and scientific progress.

ACS Biomaterials Science & Engineering is seeking nominations for its Early Career Board (ECB). ECB members will play a vital role in shaping the journal’s future, contributing to strategic initiatives, outreach efforts, and editorial development. They will help expand the journal’s reach into emerging and interdisciplinary fields, ensuring its continued relevance and excellence.

We are excited to welcome rising scholars to join the third cohort of Early Career Board for the journal. The initial appointment will span two years, during which members will engage regularly with the journal’s editorial team. Selected candidates will begin their term in May 2026 and serve through the end of 2027.

The deadline for applications is March 31, 2026.

Eligibility

  • Doctoral degree awarded within the past ten years.
  • Author or co-author of at least one ACS Biomaterials Science & Engineering publication post-Ph.D.
  • Open to postdoctoral researchers and early-career faculty at academic, industrial, or government research institutions.

  • Self-nominations and mentor nominations are both welcome.
  • A statement of nomination from a senior faculty member or established researcher outlining the nominee’s qualifications.
  • A mission statement from the nominee (max 250 words) describing how early career members can contribute to the journal’s growth.
  • URL(s) to the nominee’s ACS Biomaterials Science & Engineering publication(s).
