This Special Issue aims to highlight the latest contributions from scientists and technologists in the interdisciplinary area of Raman Spectroscopy & Microscopy research. Submit your manuscript by December 31, 2025.

In 2026, ACS Applied Optical Materials will launch a Special Issue titled “100 Years of the Raman Effect: Celebrating a Century of Molecular Insight and Shaping the Future.” This commemorative edition will highlight cutting-edge advances in materials science research centered on Raman spectroscopy and microscopy. It will mark the beginning of a planned series of Special Issues leading up to the centennial celebration in 2028.
Topics include, but are not limited to:
- Advancements in Raman Instrumentation
- Raman Imaging
- Raman Characterization of Molecular Crystal, Self-healing crystals, MOFs, COFs MXenes, etc
- Tip-Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy (TERS)
- Time-Resolved Raman Spectroscopy
- Advancements and application of Low-frequency Raman
- Polarized Raman Spectroscopy
- Raman spectroscopy for disease detection and staging
- In-situ Raman characterization in different areas (device, electrochemistry, engineering etc.)
- Surface Enhanced Raman Optical Activity (SEROA)
- Raman amplifiers
- Advanced Surface-Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy (SERS)
Do you have a research report to include? Submit your manuscript by December 31, 2025.
If you plan to submit a Review or Perspective manuscript for this Special Issue, please submit your proposal to eic@aom.acs.org. Review-type manuscripts cannot be directly submitted to ACS Applied Optical Materials.
