This joint Special Issue aims to highlight the latest contributions from scientists and technologists in the area of biopolymer-based materials and devices. Submit your manuscript by October 31, 2025.

In 2026, ACS Applied Bio Materials and ACS Applied Electronic Materials will jointly publish a Special Issue showcasing recent research advances on biopolymer-based materials and devices.
The intent of the Special Issue is to highlight the contributions made by leading scientists in the research fields of cellulose, cellulose-derived materials or other types of biopolymer materials, with a focus on sustainable electronic or energy applications. Cellulose and other biopolymers are abundant natural products and renewable resources that offer tremendous potential for integration in flexible, functional and hybrid organic/inorganic materials. These include novel radiative cooling, electronics, chiral materials, sensors, batteries, energy harvesting, structural materials and composites.
In this Special Issue, we aim to explore different aspects of this challenging and timely topic, including but not limited to:
- Optoelectronic applications
- Energy harvesting
- Energy storage
- High-strength structural materials
- Energy conversion
- Hybrid materials
- Sensors
- Wearable devices
- Healthcare applications
Do you have a research report to include? Submit your manuscript by October 31, 2025.
