This Virtual Special Issue aims to provide a platform for the scientific community to present their high- quality research in polymer-drug conjugates. Submit your manuscript by September 30, 2024.
Polymer-drug conjugates constitute an essential aspect of polymer therapeutics, wherein the therapeutic agent forms a chemical bond with a polymer. This encompasses the linkage to not only small drug molecules but also biomacromolecules such as antibodies or therapeutic proteins/peptides. Chemistry therefore plays a central role in this context as the character and attributes of the linker connecting the polymer and therapeutic components are crucial, as the cleavage of this linker dictates the drug release kinetics and consequently influences the therapeutic outcome.
These conjugates can take the form of water-soluble macromolecules, polymer nanoparticles, polymersomes, polymer micelles, giant amphiphiles, protein nanoparticles, inorganic nanocarriers, and many others, representing a diverse range of nanoscale drug delivery systems.
This Virtual Special Issue from Chemistry of Materials aims to provide a platform for the scientific community to present their high- quality research in the field of polymer-drug conjugates. Relevant topics on polymer-drug conjugates will be discussed, including ideas for the design of new types of polymer-drug conjugates, as well as new strategies for improving their selectivity, efficacy and safety.
We invite Articles, Perspectives, Reviews, or Methods & Protocols on all topics related to polymer-drug conjugates, including (but not limited to):
- Well-defined polymer-drug and polymer-protein/peptide conjugates
- Stimuli-sensitive and/or targeted polymer-drug conjugates
- New chemistry to synthesize polymer-drug conjugates
- Innovative polymer-drug linkers
- Formulation of polymer-drug conjugates
- Advanced characterization of polymer-drug conjugates
- Clinical translation of polymer-drug conjugates
