This Virtual Special Issue aims to provide a platform for the scientific community to present their cutting-edge research in post-lithium battery materials. Submit your manuscript by October 31, 2024.

Abstract digital background with green neon lightning bolt and particle effects.

In the last few years, post lithium-ion batteries technologies have imposed themselves in the landscape of electrochemical energy storage systems. These technologies based on M-ion (M = Na, Ca, Al, K, Mg…) or dealing with the replacement of liquid electrolyte by a solid one rely on the development of suitable electroactive materials and superionic conductors to deliver high energy density/power density.

ACS Materials Letters is seeking submissions to an upcoming Virtual Special Issue, “Post-Lithium Battery Materials”, which aims to provide a platform for the scientific community to present their cutting-edge research in post-lithium battery materials. Relevant topics on post-lithium battery materials will be considered, including their design, synthesis, modeling, electrochemical performance, advanced characterization including during cycling (operando and in situ investigation).

We invite Letters, Reviews, and Perspectives on all topics related to Materials for post-lithium battery materials applications, including (but not limited to):

  • Novel electrochemical materials for post-Li technology (M-ion, M metal and solid-state technology)
  • Materials engineering for electronic/ionic percolation
  • Related materials design and synthesis
  • Modeling of materials dedicated to post-Li technology
  • Advanced characterization techniques of the dedicated materials
  • Operando/in situ technique on various materials (electrode and electrolyte) for post-Li technology
  • Electrochemical performance of related materials
