ACS Publications is excited to announce a Call for Papers for a special issue of Molecular Pharmaceutics titled “Innovations in Nuclear Medicine.” This Special Issue will highlight significant advances in the application of nuclear medicine to developing and/or improving new radiopharmaceutical interventions.
We invite Research Articles, Communications, Reviews, or Perspectives, in the broad area of nuclear medicine research fitting within the scope of Molecular Pharmaceutics as defined in the About the Journal Page and Author Guidelines. This Special Issue has a particular focus on studies probing mechanistic understanding of these strategies, from both molecular design and biological response perspectives.
Topics include, but are not limited to:
- Development and evaluation of radiopharmaceuticals and theranostics
- Radiobiology of radiopharmaceuticals, dose-dependent) local (tumor) and systemic effects that could explain responsiveness/resistance but not limited to, immunological responses
- Dosimetry
- Computational modeling of radiopharmaceuticals and their applications
- Combination therapies incorporating nuclear medicines, including nanomedicine
- Novel targeting approaches, and strategies to improve therapy including pharmacokinetic modulation

Submission Information
We welcome submissions for this Special Issue through December 1, 2025, in anticipation of publishing the Special Issue in early 2026. For more information on submission requirements, please visit the journal’s Author Guidelines page.
Papers accepted for publication for this Special Issue will be available ASAP (as soon as publishable) online as soon as they are accepted. After all submissions have been published, they will then be compiled online on a dedicated landing page to form the Special Issue. Manuscripts submitted for consideration will undergo the full rigorous peer review process expected from ACS journals.
