ACS Nano Medicine is pleased to invite nominations for its inaugural Early Career Advisory Board (ECAB). This initiative is designed to engage outstanding early career researchers who are shaping the future of nanomedicine and to provide them with insight into scientific publishing and editorial leadership.
Members of the ACS Nano Medicine Early Career Advisory Board will serve a two-year term and will work closely with the journal’s editorial leadership. The ECAB provides a platform for early career scientists to contribute to the journal’s strategic direction while gaining valuable professional development experience.
Responsibilities and Opportunities
Early Career Advisory Board members will be expected to:
- Advise the Editors on emerging research areas and community needs in nanomedicine
- Serve as ambassadors for ACS Nano Medicine within the scientific community
- Assist with identifying high-quality research and review topics
- Contribute ideas for special issues, editorials, perspectives, or community-focused content
- Provide feedback on journal initiatives, policies, and outreach efforts
Participation in the ECAB offers:
- Increased visibility within the field
- Opportunities to develop editorial and leadership experience
- Career mentoring by editorial team members
- Networking with journal editors and fellow early career researchers
Eligibility Criteria
Nominees should:
- Be within 12 years of completing their PhD at the time of nomination (career interruptions will be considered)
- Conduct independent research in areas relevant to nanomedicine including but not limited to nanotherapeutics, diagnostics, biomaterials, drug delivery, immunoengineering, and translational nanomedicine
- Demonstrate a strong publication record and growing recognition in their field
- Show a commitment to scientific service, community engagement, and excellence in research
Nomination Process
Nominations should be submitted by August 25 and must include:
- Nominee’s name, current position, and institutional affiliation
- A brief statement (≤300 words) describing the nominee’s qualifications, research focus, and motivation for serving on the ECB
- Contact information (email address)
- CV of the nominee
Self-nominations are welcome.
Selection and Announcement
All nominations will be reviewed by the Editors of ACS Nano Medicine. Selected members will be notified directly, and the inaugural Early Career Advisory Board will be announced on the journal website and ACS Axial.
