This Special Issue will feature the new directions and findings on π-conjugated organic species. The broad scope of the field will be encompassed by this Special Issue soliciting papers on synthetic methodology, design, and/or applications of π-systems/structures. The molecules and materials presented in submitted letters that have optical, electronic, magnetic, biomedical imaging, and/or supramolecular properties should showcase those properties through associated experiments.

To capture the leading research in this exciting area of chemistry, Organic Letters is calling on authors who specialize in this field to submit your latest work to the Special Issue “π-Conjugated Molecules & Materials.” Also, we invite you to navigate through our previous Special Issues.

Topics include, but are not limited to:

  • New synthetic methodologies for synthesis of π-conjugated molecules
  • Design and synthesis of novel aromatic π-systems/structures and study their optical, electronic and magnetic properties
  • Synthesis of organic π-radicals and reactive intermediates
  • Self-assembly of functional π-systems and supramolecular materials
  • Fluorescent dyes, molecular probes and biomedical imaging agents
  • Organic semiconductors/materials for organic electronics (OLED, OPV, FET et al), photonics and spintronics, electronics, optoelectronics, and sensing applications
