This Special Issue will highlight emerging electrochemical methods and electrochemistry‑enabled reactivity in organic synthesis, spanning reaction development, mechanistic insight, and synthetic applications. Submit your manuscript by March 31, 2027.

This Special Issue will feature emerging electrochemical methods and electrochemistry‑enabled reactivity in organic synthesis, highlighting how electrochemical approaches are reshaping modern synthetic strategy. As interest in sustainable, efficient, and mechanistically rich transformations continues to grow, electrosynthesis offers unique opportunities to access new reactivity, control redox events with precision, and reduce reliance on stoichiometric reagents.
To capture leading research in this rapidly evolving area, Organic Letters encourages authors to submit their latest work to the Special Issue titled “Plugging into Organic Synthesis: Advances in Electrochemistry.” Contributions spanning reaction development, mechanistic understanding, and synthetic applications are encouraged, showcasing how electrochemistry is enabling innovation across academic and industrial research.
Topics include, but are not limited to:
- Electrosynthesis methodologies, including electrochemical hydrogenation
- Electrogenerated reagents and mediated electrolysis
- Electrocatalysis and asymmetric electrosynthesis
- Paired electrolysis strategies
- Flow electrolysis and scalable electrochemical processes
- Polymer‑related electrosynthesis and functional materials
