Yale University Professor Scott J. Miller will join The Journal of Organic Chemistry next year as its new Editor-in-Chief. Miller is the Irénée du Pont Professor of Chemistry at Yale and has won numerous awards, including the ACS Arthur C. Cope Scholar Award and the ACS Award for Creative Work in Synthetic Organic Chemistry. He will replace outgoing EIC C. Dale Poulter in January 2017. Poulter is retiring and has led the journal since 2001.
Miller is known for his research on complex molecular synthesis relying on rational design and combinatorial screening, with the goal of discovering new chemical transformations that enable the rapid synthesis of stereochemically complex structures. In addition to his work with ACS, he is a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
