This Virtual Special Issue aims to honor the work of early career researchers for the new experience, expertise, and knowledge they bring to the photonics community. Submit your manuscript by January 1, 2025.
ACS Photonics will publish a Virtual Special Issue (VSI) featuring work from early career and emerging researchers (12 years or fewer since receiving a Ph.D. and currently serving as a Principal Investigator or equivalent), entitled “Rising Stars in Photonics.”
We invite submissions from early career and emerging researchers in all areas of photonics, which spans the entire scope of the journal. We aim to honor the work of early career researchers for the new experience, expertise, and knowledge they bring to the photonics community.
The deadline for submission is January 1, 2025.
Submission Information
Contributions for the VSI can be submitted through the ACS Paragon Plus website. We ask that you do not indicate within the manuscript itself that the submission is intended for the VSI, since this could contribute to bias in the peer-review process. Instead, please indicate prominently in the cover letter that it is intended for the “Rising Stars in Photonics” VSI. In addition, the cover letter for the submission should state the year the corresponding author received their Ph.D. If the corresponding author took an official leave of absence since receiving their Ph.D. and earned their Ph.D. before 2012, please provide the months and years that the leave was taken.
As with all article submissions to ACS Photonics, manuscripts should represent a rigorous scientific report of original research, as it will be peer-reviewed with the same standards as a regular submission. More information about the journal can be found in the ACS Photonics Author Guidelines.
