The foundations of precision chemistry can be traced back to the principles of quantum mechanics. While the quantum nature of chemical systems is not always explicitly considered in chemical research, exploring into the quantum realm offers unprecedented opportunities to push the boundaries of chemistry.

By delving deeper into the intricate quantum phenomena that govern the behavior of atoms and molecules, researchers can uncover novel insights and develop cutting-edge techniques that enable unprecedented control and manipulation of chemical processes at the most fundamental level. This exploration of the quantum landscape holds immense potential to revolutionize our understanding and mastery of chemistry, paving the way for groundbreaking discoveries and applications across various domains, from materials science to quantum computing and beyond.

This Special Issue, to be published in Precision Chemistry, aims to highlight cutting-edge research that explores into the quantum realm of chemistry, encompassing investigations of chemical systems showcasing remarkable quantum phenomena and chemical research employing quantum techniques. We are particularly interested in but not limited to:

  • Emerging quantum materials, e.g. quantum dots, superconductors, qubits, and etc.
  • Quantum computing in chemical simulations
  • Quantum control of chemical process
  • Quantum dynamics and mechanics of chemical systems
  • Precision measurement developed by quantum algorithms
