ACS Macro Letters invites submissions on Sustainable Innovations in Biobased Polymers. There is no deadline for your submissions; please submit when you are ready.
The urgent need for environmentally responsible materials is driving rapid advances in polymer science. ACS Macro Letters seeks urgent research that highlights innovative macromolecular design, synthesis, and characterization strategies for bio-based, recyclable, and circular polymers.
We are particularly interested in concise, high-impact studiesthat demonstrate clear advances in structure–property relationships, sustainability metrics, or end-of-life solutions.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
- Biobased feedstocks and polymer synthesis
- Self-assembly and advanced macromolecular architectures
- 3D printing and additive manufacturing of sustainable polymers
- Biocompatible, bioresorbable, and biomedical polymer systems
- Sustainable adhesives and composites
- Lignin-, protein-, and polysaccharide-based materials
- Chemical recycling, upcycling, and circular polymer design
- Smart and functional materials for packaging, food security, and health
- AI- and data-driven polymer discovery and design
- Lifecycle analysis, degradation, and environmental fate

Submission Information
There is no deadline for submissions. Authors are encouraged to adhere to FAIR Data Principles when submitting their work. For more information on submission requirements, please visit the journal’s Author Guidelines page.
ACS Macro Letters will consider submissions of Letters and proposals for Viewpoint articles. Proposals should be submitted through the relevant form, for pre-submission review by the Associate Editors.
Papers accepted for publication will be available ASAP (as soon as publishable) online. Manuscripts submitted for consideration will undergo the full rigorous peer review process expected from ACS journals.

How to Submit
- Log in to the ACS Publishing Center.
- Select your manuscript type and upload your manuscript and related files.
- Review the title and abstract fields to ensure any pre-populated information has uploaded correctly.
- Under "Special Issue Selection," select Sustainable Innovations in Biobased Polymers.
- Confirm all other information has uploaded correctly.
- Submit your article.
- Reminder: Proposals for Viewpoints in ACS Macro Letters should be sent prior to submission through the relevant form.
