Biomedical polymers play a critical role in the diagnosis and treatment of various diseases. They offer innovative solutions for targeted drug delivery, tissue engineering and regenerative medicine, driving forward cutting-edge technologies that enhance patient care and outcomes.

This Special Issue aims to showcase the latest breakthroughs in the design, development, and application of these versatile materials, fostering collaboration and innovation across multidisciplinary fields.

We invite contributions of Articles, Letters, Reviews, Perspectives and Comments on all topics related to biomedical polymers, including (but not limited to):

  • Novel polymeric materials for drug delivery systems
  • Polymer-based scaffolds for tissue engineering and regenerative medicine
  • Smart polymers for responsive and controlled drug release
  • Biocompatibility and biodegradability of polymers in medical applications
  • Polymer-based nanomaterials for diagnostic and therapeutic applications

Submission Information

Submissions are welcome through August 31, 2025. All articles will be peer reviewed prior to acceptance to ensure they fit the scope of the special issue and meet the high scientific publishing standards of Polymer Science & Technology. The peer review process for all papers will be managed by Editor-in-Chief, Prof. Xuesi Chen. If accepted, publications will go online as soon as possible and be published in the next available issue. Publications on this topic will be gathered into a virtual issue and widely promoted as significant contributions to this research area.

Polymer Science & Technology is a fully open access journal; thus, your paper will be available to anyone, at anytime, anywhere in the world.

How to Submit
