This Special Issue aims to bridge the gap between academia and industry by highlighting cutting-edge polymer research with industrial relevance. Submit your manuscript by February 28, 2026.
Commercial polymers are omnipresent in our daily lives and play crucial roles in a wide range of applications ranging from packaging, healthcare, electronics to automotive industries. As we strive for a more sustainable and innovative future, continuous advancements in polymer science and technology are imperative. To address these challenges and opportunities, we are pleased to announce a Special Issue in Polymer Science & Technology dedicated to Industry-relevant polymer science and technology.
We invite contributions of Comments, Editorials, Perspectives, Letters, Articles, and Reviews on all topics that are relevant to the polymer industry, including (but not limited to):
- Future trends and policies: We actively seek insights from senior researchers and industry leaders in the chemical sector. Contributions that offer perspectives on emerging trends, policies, and regulatory frameworks that shape the trajectory of polymer research and industry are highly encouraged.
- Polymer industrialization and commercialization: Strategies and methodologies that contribute to polymers industrialization and commercialization.
- Polymer processing: Exploring innovative processing techniques and methodologies for polymers and highlighting the impact of processing on the properties and performance of polymers.
- Structural and properties of commercial polymers: Investigation of the structural characteristics and properties of commercial polymers. Contributions should focus on the relationship between polymer structure and performance, as well as the development of new materials with improved properties.

Submission Information
Submissions are welcome through February 28, 2026. Submissions, with the exception of Comments and Editorials, will be peer reviewed prior to acceptance to ensure they meet the high scientific publishing standards of Polymer Science & Technology. The peer review process will be managed by Prof. Yongfeng Men and Prof. Patrick Theato, Associate Editors of the journal.
If accepted, publications will go online as soon as possible and be published in the next available issue. Publications on this topic will be gathered into a virtual issue and widely promoted as significant contributions to this research area.
Polymer Science & Technology is a fully open access journal; thus, your paper will be available to anyone, at anytime, anywhere in the world. However, APCs will be automatically waived for all articles submitted by December 31, 2027 if they are accepted after peer review.
How to Submit
- Log in to the ACS Publishing Center.
- Select the ‘"Journals" tab.
- Search for Polymer Science & Technology.
- Click "Submit."
- Select your manuscript type, and, under "Special Issue Selection," choose “Industry-Relevant Polymer Science and Technology."
