The journal seeks submissions of original Letters aimed to advance, optimize, and facilitate the community’s understanding of spin-active and magnetic polymers—with a clear focus on fundamental polymer science and polymer physics rather than applied polymer research.

Blue light patterns create interwoven, abstract waveforms against a dark background, resembling a complex network of curved lines and glowing nodes.

We are interested in how spin-active and magnetic polymers are being used, or can be used, in the advancement of fundamental polymer science. Recognizing polymer physics as underpinning the structure and function of polymers, we seek contributions that address the current issues and sticking points in the field of spin-active and magnetic polymer research.

We are pleased to invite you to submit your original Letters to ACS Macro Letters. We also welcome your suggestions of Viewpoint articles in this area. Please get in touch with the Organizing Editors with your suggestions.

In this Editorial, we give guidance on the types of urgent communications we would like to see submitted to ACS Macro Letters. It is vital for your submissions in this area to have a clear focus on fundamental polymer science; device physics, fabrication and/or evaluation of integrated devices, and assessment of device performance are not within the scope of this project.

We are interested in low bandgap conjugated polymers, doped conjugated macromolecules, and polymers exhibiting large Faraday rotations; it is crucial that all submissions meet ACS Macro Letters’ standards and expectations for urgent communications.

Topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Mixed conjugated and non-conjugated open-shell radical polymers.
  • Impact of radical character upon chemical synthesis, doping, or conjugation on end-use properties.
  • Effect of crystallinity on magneto-responsivity and/or spin transport.

We welcome original Letter submissions, and your suggestions of Viewpoint pieces. Your contributions will play a significant role in advancing the understanding of spin-active and magnetic polymers.
