Sharing scholarly articles enables collaboration, professional relationships and advances in science and discovery. But how best to share published research articles can be unclear. While open access content is growing and can be shared freely, most articles are still currently published in subscription journals. How Can I Share It is designed to provide practical information to help you share subscription articles with your colleagues quickly and easily.
At the moment, How Can I Share It is in ‘beta version’ – for a good reason: it is designed to grow over time with the input of the scholarly community. The site has been created by the STM Association to provide practical information to help simplify scholarly sharing. The new website follows the development of the voluntary principles for article sharing on scholarly collaboration networks which were drafted by the STM Association in 2015 and now endorsed by more than 40 organizations including scholarly collaboration networks, technology providers and publishers (like ACS Publications!).
We hope that this new site will grow over time and become a valuable information resource on the use and evolution of sharing and SCNs.
