Bring your research to life in art form! Learn how to feature your work on our journal covers and explore a curated gallery of stunning scientific artwork across ACS journals.
The ACS Publications supplementary cover art program offers authors more ways to have their artwork considered for use as a cover by the journal publishing their research. All submitted art is considered for the front cover, but our supplementary cover program allows up to four other covers to be selected per issue, meaning more chances to have your art featured in one of our high-impact journals.
Why submit supplementary cover art?
- Get your research featured as a cover of one of our trusted journals. With strong competition for the front cover, opting to be considered for a supplementary cover as well provides you more opportunities to have your designs selected.
- Raise the profile of your article with prime placement.
- Visually conveying results is a persuasive and eye-catching way to promote your work.
- Get your cover featured on the journal's website and your article webpage with the corresponding PDF for download.
- Receive a 18" x 24" printed poster for display and a high-resolution file for inclusion in your scientific talks and for you display and use wherever you see fit.
- Share your cover on social media and tag us for a chance for a share from one of the official ACS channels. This is a great way to showcase your research and deliver it to a wider audience!
- Gain expert advice from ACS Publications as we guide you through the process.

What our authors are saying
Standing out is crucial in the competitive world of scholarly publishing. For Jacek Tyczkowski and Hanna Kierzkowska-Pawlak, professors from the Department of Molecular Engineering at Lodz University of Technology, Poland, this option was appealing as a means of drawing more attention to their Perspective article on nanohybrid catalysts.
“We believe that our Perspective is important for researchers in the catalysis field and wanted to increase the impact of this article through additional promotion,” Prof. Kierzkowska-Pawlak says.
Their cover, featured below, was one of four selected to be featured online for Volume 16, Issue 29 of ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces. It is currently featured on the Journal’s website and corresponding article pages.
