This is ACS' first agreement in Chile and the latest in a long line of ACS read and publish agreements signed with institutions across Latin America.

ACS is pleased to announce a new read and publish agreement with Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (UC). As the top university in Latin America*, UC understands the need for top-quality resources for its researchers and students, and as of January 1 2025, faculty at UC benefit from full reading access to all ACS journals, as well as support for open access publication.
This is ACS' first agreement in Chile and the latest in a long line of ACS read and publish agreements signed with institutions across Latin America. Other new agreements in the region for 2025 include UNACHI, Universidad Nacional de Tumbes, and Centro Internaticional de Majoramiento de Maiz y Trigo.
Margarita E. Aliaga Miranda, Directora de Investigación y Postgrado at UC, says:
"In line with the Strategic Plan of the Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (UC), we have established a key partnership with ACS, one of the largest scientific organizations in the world. This milestone undoubtedly provides tremendous support for the daily work carried out by the institution’s faculty, researchers, and students."
"In terms of research and innovation, the various initiatives promoted by ACS enable the establishment of close ties with society, engaging diverse sectors (both public and private). Additionally, they enhance the development of global networks, fostering the effective transfer of knowledge generated both within and beyond our country.
In this context, and in a globalized world, forming connections with international partners like ACS is essential to furthering our internationalization efforts. These efforts include fostering global education, advancing international collaboration in our educational mission, and continuing to contribute from UC to addressing global challenges.
Thanks to the collaborative efforts of key players such as UC’s Office of Research and Library Directorate, we have successfully signed a transformative agreement with ACS. This agreement will significantly expand the dissemination of research outcomes from our faculty, researchers, and students."
Researchers and students from UC can find more information about the agreement on the ACS Open Science website.
