Organic Letters is announcing a new Virtual Special Issue: “Radical Reactions for the Construction and Transformation of Complex Molecules.” This Virtual Special Issue aims to bring together global experts to share insight on traditional approaches and emerging strategies devoted to the development and application of radical reactions for synthesis and molecular modification. The reactions can span a wide spectrum of one-electron mediated chemical processes, manifesting through classical organic mechanisms or facilitated by metal, light, electricity, or biocatalysis. The emphasis lies in their application in the construction and transformation of small-molecule pharmaceuticals, organic materials, natural products, and large biorelevant molecules as shown in the lab or being demonstrated in new applications being put into practice.

The deadline for submissions is April 1, 2024.

Submission Instructions

All manuscripts will be formatted as Letters and must meet the Organic Letters length requirements. The inclusion of both positive and negative results is encouraged.

To submit your manuscript, visit the Organic Letters website. Please follow the normal procedures for manuscript submission, and when on the ACS Paragon Plus submission site, select the special issue “Radical Reactions for the Construction and Transformation of Complex Molecules.” All manuscripts will undergo the normal peer review process. For additional submission instructions, please see the Organic Letters Author Guidelines.

Articles that are not accepted may be offered to transfer to another ACS journal, including The Journal of Organic Chemistry, and if accepted be published along with the Organic Letters articles in a companion Virtual Issue.

The deadline for submissions is April 1, 2024.

Safety Information in Journal Articles

Including a clear, articulate safety summary statement in your research is vital to ensuring that others who reproduce or expand upon your work can prepare for significant hazards and conduct their own methods as safely as possible. Read more about crafting safety statements in our ACS Axial post series.

Open Access

There are diverse open-access options for publications in Organic Letters and other American Chemical Society journals. Please visit our Open Science Resource Center for more information.
