Eight fully open access journals received their inaugural Journal Impact Factors™, reinforcing their significance within the ACS Publications portfolio and the scientific community.
The Publications Division of the American Chemical Society (ACS) is proud to announce that its portfolio of fully open access journals was highlighted in the 2024 Journal Citation Reports™ yesterday, with eight journals receiving their inaugural Journal Impact Factors™.
The following ACS Publications journals were included for the first time in the 2024 Journal Citation Reports™ with Journal Impact Factors™, which provides a measure of how often an average article in each journal was cited within a specific time window.
- ACS Bio & Med Chem Au (4.0)
- ACS Engineering Au (4.3)
- ACS Environmental Au (6.7)
- ACS Materials Au (5.7)
- ACS Measurement Science Au (4.6)
- ACS Nanoscience Au (4.8)
- ACS Organic & Inorganic Au (3.8)
- ACS Physical Chemistry Au (3.7)
These journals join the ranks of other fully open access ACS journals like ACS Central Science (13.1), ACS Omega (3.7), ACS Polymers Au (4.8), and JACS Au (8.6), which were again recognized this year.
“We’re thrilled to see our open access journals exceed our high standards of excellence, achieving this milestone that establishes them as important parts of the ACS Publications portfolio and the scientific community,” said ACS Publications ACS Publications Senior Vice President and Chief Publishing Officer Sarah Tegen, Ph.D. “We are proud to work alongside our dedicated authors, editors, and peer reviewers to ensure that our journals remain the most trusted, most cited, and most read in chemistry and its related sciences.”
The 2024 Journal Citation Reports™ from Clarivate™ show that ACS Publications’ ACS Au open access journals achieved a median Journal Impact Factor™ of 5.0. This median score is one indicator of the continuing importance of ACS Publications as a home for scientific discoveries.
Understand the full reach, impact, and influence of ACS Publications journals by accessing citation, usage, and peer review metrics for journals across the portfolio.
Researchers can trust that ACS Publications’ record of excellence will continue as its portfolio grows with new journals—like ACS Electrochemistry and Polymer Science & Technology from this year—that will publish research, discoveries, new innovations that improve lives through the transforming power of chemistry.
